Dilli-Dally-ing...Part 2

Its been a long time since I watched the dusk fade, and give way to the night..I'm put up at a paying guest facility in the quieter part of an otherwise bustling market..I've switched off the A/C, opened up the windows and I've been staring out of it sipping my tea and pecking on home made jelabis..

Its funny how fast one gets accustomed to things..My last post about wavering lost me sounds like me, light years ago..I still have 'quick me' convo's in my head from time to time and I make some embarrassing mistakes due to geographical ignorance, but I don't feel 'I'm tiny in a large city, please help me' (*baby Garfield eyes*) anymore..I actually hustled someone while getting into the metro the other day, I boxed my way out today..I'm pretty good with crossing crazy roads and bargaining with rickshaw wallah's..Actually the bargaining tactic is pretty simple..I walk towards a horde of them, all of them shouting and waiting to pounce on you,almost..I raise my fingers to make a two or three and keep repeating the name of the place I want to go to. No room for bargaining. Bees Kamala Market or Tees Rajpur Road. Once the greedy ones pshya me off, the nicer ones always come around.

I've been less successful with the road side cloth sellers however. Them and their fixed price boards. I once managed to get a guy to reduce 30 bucks and as soon as I paid him I began jumping up and down signalling to my friend about my success. She looked like an embarrassed adolescent who just got hugged and kissed in front of her macho friends and led me away quickly!

I've also got myself a camera...I cant wait to hang out with my new toy and preserve memories in frames..:)

The sky has gone dark..The streetlights are on and I cant hear the kids playing cricket in the park anymore.

The evening gives you hope..the night, however, threatens to run past and lets morning come by quickly..

Lots to be done, before the stars come out I should begin.

I am a dusk watcher too...my most awaited moment everyday is watching the sun fading away into red light on the way back from my walk...Dusk is a loose term as in the London summer of never ending days sunset is often at 9 or 10 pm. But that is the most magical time, methinks.(Sunrise is also probably as beautiful but I have no idea because it insists on coming so early in the day).

baby Garfield eyes- that's so cute :)

I am very much a novice at photography...but I absolutely love clicking away...at people,sights,scenes.... :)

It is good to not bargain with them. They have a tough life. It is a paltry sum when compared to the exorbitant rates that we spend in purchasing designer brands.

Change of seasons and the never ending transition between the forces of darkness and light keeps the wheels of life spinning.

But the opposite party is kept under the creator's feet and constant vigil so that he doesn't make any mischief in this world :)

Keep the bargaining going..like a lot of other things..you get better at it by and by :) And what better place than Delhi to learn that..and a lot more in life..which you've pretty much figured i'm sure.
